Not Everyone is Leaving the U.S. Because of Dissatisfaction, Many of Us Left Because We Couldn't Afford to Stay
Many of us have had to leave because we could not afford to stay.
It's just that simple.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Berkeley, California. to be exact.
After the Internet boom the growing real estate prices to accommodate the high-tech industries, many of us who were born in the area could not afford to stay during retirement.
It has not bother me for the first 12 years of my retirement.
Hopping from country to country and living oceanfront for less than $750 a month has been interesting and exciting.
However, as you get older you realize that it may be a good idea to slow down and stay in one place longer.
But where?
Where do you go?
You can retire in senior communities in Asia for $1200 to $3000 a month, with everything taken care of for you, but do you really want to live in Asia full-time?
And what about being able tio qualify to stay in certain countries full-time.
If you noticed the blog has been including more affordable retirement options in the United States.
Yet, most of the recommendation may or may not be suitable for retirees in their late eighties.
Living with family members is out of the question and affording full-time senior care in America is also out of the question.
I think about this situation almost every day, because it's not only a concern for me, for millions of baby boomers.
Stay tune. I will create a video on the subject, and you will be able to post your comments so we can figure this out together.
